Below is a series of questions to help you organize and write your story. Don't worry too much about sentence structure and spelling. You'll have the opportunity to refine your story later.

  1. Download this word processing document and use it to record your answers throughout this section. Note: This document is private and cannot be accessed by Making Your Case faculty or administrative staff. When you've completed this section, save the document on your computer for future reference.

If you prefer, jot down your thoughts and information in a notebook. The important thing is to keep your ideas in one place for quick reference.

  2. Type the answers to these questions into your word processing document:

    • Do you have a picture of you and your family that you are willing to share?

    • Describe the situation that you've chosen. What is working? What is not working?

    • What could be done to improve your situation?

  3. If you need more help, click PLAY (90kb file) to hear and read about a dad's point of view on the importance of sharing a story.
